Exercise Physiology/Stretch Protocols
Roughly 40% of your body is comprised of muscle tissue (or should be). Muscle tissue has but one function: contract and relax. That’s it. Nothing more amazing or fancy. Contract, relax, repeat.
Unfortunately, injuries and poor habits can result in dysfunctional joints, muscles and movement over years . . . the idea is to create a better awareness within your bod, increase your strength/flexibility and bring back pure, pain free movement.
How is this done? Christopher will meet with you for a 60 minute session. The first 20 minutes or so will be an intake of your health history and chief complaints. Then Christopher will devise several key exercises and stretch protocols to help you out of pain. The exercises and stretches are relatively easy at first, the idea is to create proper neural firing of your muscles first, then strengthen them as needed.
To be clear: this is not personal training! The overall goal is pain-free movement and wholly functional joint function – not giant muscles for the beach. Also, these sessions are designed for you to take home and do by yourself on an ongoing basis. You may wish to come in once a week for an hour for a month or so then, typically, people simply check in once a month or so. Relaxed and easy, these are simply the tools we should all have at our disposal and should have been taught in school!
